A desagradável surpresa veio no início do ano, quando Emerson tentou solicitar um cartão de crédito, mas foi informado que estava com o nome negativado. Certo que não possuía dívidas ativas, o homem foi até o Serasa e constatou que o CPF estava protestado no valor de R$ 5 mil pelo IPVA do carro roubado.
Desacreditado, Emerson foi até o Detran/MS verificar o que estava acontecendo. Ao chegar no Departamento Estadual de Trânsito, ele foi informado que o carro, no qual havia feito o boletim de ocorrência de furto em 2008, estava preso no pátio desde 2009. O Gol, que na época tinha dois anos de uso, havia sido apreendido em uma blitz porque era conduzido por um rapaz que não possuía habilitação.
